This furry giant originated from the Carpathian mountains in Romania. As their name suggest they are shepherds dog. Ushering livestock to and from the feeding ground is their major duty.
physical appearance
The Mioritic sheepdog have a massive body, with long fluffy light colored hair from the top of its head down to its paws. The ears are not so big, set on rather high, triangular, hanging on the side of the head. The tail is set on high with the tip of the tail a little curved. The basic color is usually white, lightly cream or pale gray, sometimes with patches of these colors. They have broad shoulders and a sturdy set of legs.
behavior
A very faithful, well-mannered, fearlesss dog, this breed would fight bears in an attempt to protect his master and his flock of livestock from harm. The Mioritic sheepdog is very obedient, but is very suspicious by nature. As its master you will need to establish your status as the pack leader and properly socialize this sheepdog. This breed works well with children, and is very protective of them. Ideally, an adult Mioritic Sheepdog would need a lot of space to run around. They love being outside and have no problem sleeping outdoor. Like any big dogs out there, this breed need a healthy amount of excercise to keep their sturdy figure.
