cane corso

The Cane Corso is a very rare and ancient Italian breed that has been derived from the now exstinct Roman Molosser (type of large, solidly-built dog). In the past, it has been used to livestock guardian, game hunting and home/ personal defense.

physical appearance

Cane Corso is similar in terms of appearance as the American Pitbull. Strong, boxy figure with sturdy legs and body packed with muscles. It has a strong jaw which means superior biting power. Its ears are naturally drooped down, but many breeders crop them so that they would stand up straight. Cane Corso have a short coarse coat, which will become denser as the season gets colder. It usually comes in red, fawn, black, blue or any of those 4 colors brindle (type of motif that looks like marble pattern).

behavior

Cane Corso are considered to have an even, stable temperament. They tend to be a quiet breed. Make sure to socialize it with babies, other dogs and humans of both sexes because they can be aggresive to strangers due to their suspicious nature. If you think Pitbulls are scary, then Corsos are not the breed for you. They are every criminal's nightmare. They have an uncanny ability to differentiate friends from foes, and are alert even in their sleep. They provide highly sophisticated protection for personal, family, and property security. The Cane Corso is truly, a living security system.
