Giant Schhnauzer is one of the breeder involved in creating this magnificent canine. Black Russian terriers are able to withstand almost any kind of weather and are pretty large in size.
physical appearance
Again, as we can infer from the name, Black Russian Terriers only come in one coat color: black. They have a medium length, rather coarse and wiry, jet black hair. Adult BRTs can weigh up to 90lbs and about 30 inches in height. They should have a beard and eyebrows on the face, and a slight mane around the withers and neck that is more pronounced in males. They have a sturdy physique, with boxy legs. They have folded ears, and in competition will be disqualified if they have cropped ears.
behavior
Black Russian Terriers are highly affectionate breed. They need to be in close contact with human in order to be happy. Even if you put them outside, they would follow you from window to window and wait for you at the door. This may not be the quality you are looking for if you travel often, but BRTs are perfect for those of you who needs constant companions. Like most big dogs, BRTs need to excercise regularly even though they are fine living in an apartment. They can easily mingle with other living creatures you may have. They respond well to training and easily house broken. This breed is what you would call "late bloomers". It takes longer for them to reach full maturity. What does this mean to you? Well, you might want to consider your plan of sharing your bed with them as a puppy. Unless you are fine with that condition a year later. Remember, BRTs are massive and powerful. Nobody wants a wrestling match every night to determine who gets the bigger part of the bed.
